About

Boaters have a unique relationship with both the natural wonders of the marine environment, and the technology that allows them to transverse it.  While it’s often difficult to keep the technology the supports boating from damaging our natural waterways, it’s an important task to accomplish.  After all it’s a love for and a basic attraction to the “water” that motivates most boaters to start with the activity of boating to begin with.  I’ve been an avid sail boater for the past eight years.  While it would be easy to get into a discussion about the pros and cons between sail and power boats especially when it comes to the impact on the environment, I won’t do that.

Environmental concerns are just one piece of the puzzle to supporting a usable marine habitat for all of us.  There are often politics, and governments involved in determining how those waterways should be used,  when they should be used, and who they should be used by.  The intent of this blog is to propose, and encourage discussions about just those kids of issues. Suffice it to say, there are options for all boaters to make better choices when it comes to maintaining lakes, rivers, streams, seas, deltas and oceans for this generation and those that follow.
