As of this writing we do not yet have the judges ruling on the court action in Brevard County. It is expected very soon, but the F.W.C.C. must believe that we have won. I say this because of their actions at this time. They have scheduled hearings all over the State to try to make new rules. They are hoping these rules will be grand-fathered in before the new legislation is passed in the Florida House and Senate. One of these hearings is set for Feb. 27, 2002 at 4:00pm at the Port Orange City Complex. We need to pack the place. Please wear your ³TAG² shirt.

ACTIONS WE NEED TO TAKEŠŠŠ. We must develop a communication network for our Chapter. To get the ball rolling, I am setting up breakfast meetings throughout the area to keep you better informed. · Goodrichıs Seafood Restaurant, in Oak Hill, Wed., Feb. 13th, 7:30am. · Koffee Kup Restaurant, 1210 N. Nova Rd., Holly Hill, Thurs., Feb. 21st , 8:00am. · M & M Sandwich Shop and Deli, 205 Spring Garden Ave.(truck route), Deland, Fri., March 1st, 8:00am.

Meetings for New Smyrna, Port Orange, Flagler and Brevard Counties will be noticed by e-mail and on our web site (standing-watch.org). I plan to schedule breakfast meetings throughout our three county area every quarter, providing we have good turnouts. The best way to contact me is by e-mail at [email protected]. I need every member to send me an e-mail including your e-mail address, mailing address and phone number(s) with area code. I will log it in and keep you updated as important events occur. I also will be asking for volunteers to setup a phone team to contact those who do not use e-mail. Every member is important and we need your help to win this war. Believe me when I say, ³This is a war against our freedom.²

ACTIONS YOU NEED TO TAKEŠŠ.. Please call or e-mail all members of the Florida House and Senate and in your own words tell how you disdain the actions of the F.W.C.C., the S.M.C. and all others who would place your right to free access to and the use of Floridaıs Water Ways in further jeopardy. Ask them to support the Harrington H.B. #1473 and Posey S.B. #1614. This is our #1 priority at the moment. The opposition has hired college students to flood our legislators with an e-mail form letter. You need to make yours personal.

CONCERNING MEMBERSHIPŠŠ..Please renew yours now. As you consider your budget I ask that you make a place for Standing Watch. If itıs only $5 or $10 each month it will add up to a fund large enough to pay for any actions we may need to undertake. The lack of funding is our greatest obstacle to regaining our lost liberties. So, please make Standing Watch one of your financial priorities. Your efforts are making a big difference. Thank you for what you have done and will continue to do.
